Summary

Abstract	Abstract The properties of the pure quartic field [equation] are examined in detail. More specifically the norm, minimal polynomial, integral basis, and the fundamental system of units of these fields will be the main focus of the thesis. An examination into the prime ideal decomposition and class number of these fields will also be taken.
