Creative Writing Club, is in the process of organizing what he describes as “an event.” - His plan is to hold a night of poetry and short story readings to raise money for the Baby Diego fund. There is no date as of yet for the reading, but Derek is aspiring for late November. Because the Creative Writing Club is small, he is hoping to coordinate with the Writers Bloc and the U.N.B.C. Radio Station’s Open Stage as well. It is his hope that the night will be fun and entertaining for everyone, and great way to raise money for a worthwhile cause. When asked why the club decided to give the money to charity rather than keep it for. their club’s use, Derek replied, “What do we need money for?” Their expenses are small; all they really want is a regular place to meet. Derek is not impressed with the hassle booking a regular room requires. “It’s kind of ridiculous,” Derek explained. Without a regular meeting place the club encounters other problems. For example, finding a way to advertise their meetings is next to impossible, as there is no way to tell where the meeting will take place ahead of schedule. For now the club has sequestered room 7- 105 as their meeting place, but this changes when the class is in use. If you are interested in Creative Writing or want to attend a meeting and find out more about the club, meetings are held every week in room 7-105, alternating between Mondays at 1:30 pm and Thursdays at 6pm. The next meeting ison [Thyrsday, 24 November 1994, You can contact Derek at 564-1405 for more information. NY -bar. by Stephanie Willett Tt was Melissa's. nineteenth birthday.
