The sixth full length album of Therapy?, Suicide pact is definitely a step backwards for the band - yet they are overwhelmingly happy with this. Described as a “colourful band.” Therapy? is an extremely versatile band, who has shown the world how a band can evolve over a number of years. Originally signed to Wiija, their unique Style gradually became walled in through corporate record deals with - major 3 a3 : Iwas i 4 , 7 q | a Oat a re : q | Suicide Pact - You First Ark21 / Universal Over The Edge and Universal Music labels such as Polygram - somewhat limiting their evo- lution. When this contract expired, Therapy? began to look for a label which would give them access to interna- tional markets such as Japan, America and Australia. Ark21 immediately signed them after hearing their initial recording session for Suicide Pact in England. The Ark21 deal also drew producer Head, who has the previous credit of working with PJ Harvey and Flood. Head, claims the band, was remarkably flexible and had the general attitude that “if you know the songs inside out, I'll set up the micro- phones and you play them.” This allowed the band to break out the restraints which had been placed on them through their previous corpo- rate contracts. bring you: The Ultimate Fu Manchu Contest!
