Compliments of the Cassiar Hospital Quilting Club who made it with such loving care. Good Cassiaz. I remember. vividly the day I Bye To The People of arrived in Watson Lake, June 3, 1987. I was surprised to see an airport made out of logs. I was greeted by Don Harrison and his clone, Joel. We headed into Watson Lake and filled up with gas. It seemed like a ghost town and to think Cassiar was even smaller. We headed south on Highway 37 which to me was a backwoods logging road. After forty five minutes fo bumping and bouncing, Joel's stomach could not take it and he threw up all over Don and I. At this point I knew things could only get better. Once we arrived in Cassiar I was pleasantly surprised with what I saw. I had expected much worse. IT was however shocked to see a five foot pile of snow in ‘one ‘corner ‘of my backyard.* » Cassiar Courier 1990 Page 10 : About a week later, Colleen arrived with Ricky, who was only a couple of weeks old. It took several days to settle in to our new house after able to get out and take a good look at the town. Coming from Vancouver it was refreshing to see smiling faces and people actually saying hello. As the weeks passed we got to know more and more people and we started to feel like part of the community. Within a couple of months it felt like we had lived here for years. It was the friends and acquaintances that we made over the last three years that made our stay enjoyable. Colleen and I would like to take this opportunity to say “Parewell People of Cassiar, you will be sadly missed." Paul, Colleen, Ricky and Thomas. RO: Judy 3 the: Cans | t ; ti tre bag yet?
