February 21, 2000 Kornered On Kampus By Dana Schwehr Well, after half my friends started hooking up with the person of their choice last week, | thought that something interesting must be hap- pening. So | started thinking about what sorts of things lead to two people becoming a couple. Alcohol was one of the first things that came to mind...but | really didn’t want to believe that everyone was making drunken errors of judgement. The next conclusion could be that it’s spring, which is when people start thinking about love, blah, blah, blah...but it’s _ still February, so | don't think that’s the reason. The only other thing | could come up with after that was that someone had gotten a hold of some really good pick up lines. Since | hadn’t heard any really good ones lately, | thought the matter should be looked into. So, that brings us to the Question of the Week: What sort of pick up line would work on you? | had thought about ask- ing what your favorite pick up line to use was, but then | realized that there were a whole lot of lines out there that people might like to use, but wouldn’t be effec- tive. This way, | can help others to get results. What sort of pick up line would work on ypuy “Something simple and sweet, nothing too corny and cheesy.” Janelle ist year Internationa “It has to be a sweet, sincere one, not some- thing like, ‘Girl, you’re So special your parents must be retarded.” Jamie 2nd year Biology “Hi, my name is (fill in the blank).
