ANNUAL MEETING The Annual General Meeting of the Cassiar Community Club was held on January 29 at 7:30 p.m. and the attendance of 80 members was better than usual despite the cold weather of 40° below. President Graham Baker opened the meeting by thanking the club committee for their support during the 1973 season. The secretary treasurer read the fin- ancial statement which showed a definite increase in revenue for the year and the committee was able to reduce the club liabilities from $30,000 down to $6,000.00. At the same time it was pointed out that during the 1973 year, there were no major improvements made to the recreation facilities. Elections were then held to fill the vacancies of Vice President and two commit- tee members. Mr. A. Borsato was elected Vice President and Mr. R. Wilson and Mr. A. Ebbinghoff were elected as committee members for a period of 2 years. Mr. J Murdoch appointed Mr. S. Tarasuk as the secretary-treasurer and Mr. R. McKenzie as the Company Representative. President Graham Baker appealed to. the members for their support in the coming year and proposed that there may be some changes made in the Constitution of the Community Club. The present Constitution was drawn up some 20 years ago and was quite adequate at that time. However there have been a few minor changes made over the years and the changes being proposed are 10 years overdue. WEATHER REPORT WARMEST DAY - January 25 & 27: 25° COLDEST DAY - January 16: 46° below 0 JANUARY'S SNOWFALL - 24.75 inches TOTAL SNOWFALL AS OF FEBRUARY 6: 90 inches Over the past years the Asbestos Sheet has- been printed in magazine form, but we are having difficulties in having the paper printed due to the type of paper and in the production due to the work involved at our printers. We are planning to have future editions produced in the more common newspaper form. Our printer promises to deliver our news faster - one weeks delivery compared to four - and consequently our news would be, in fact, news, instead of ancient history. We regret the cnange but we believe that the advantages of a new format will be well worth it. We would appreciate your comments.
