There have been quite a number of activities around the school which have caused some excitement this month. The Cassiar teams' trip to Watson Lake was one of the highlights of November. After 3 grueling months of training, the teams finally, after a false start, arrived in Watson Lake. The first game on the roster was Girls' Indoor Soccer. The teams were quite evenly matched so it was an interest- ing game. The game wound up with a 3-3 tie. The tie was broken by goalie penalty kicks. Our super-goalie Heather Joseph won the day for our girls' by stopping a vicious kick and keeping the ball out of the net. The next game was Boys' Soccer and our boys took quite a beating. Considering the fact that Watson boys have been training for 3-4 years in this game, and also con- sidering that they were twice the size of our boys, the Cassiar team put up a good fight. In Volleyball the Cassiar girls put a licking on the Watson girls, while the Watson boys cleaned up on the Cassiar boys. The girls were again victorious in Floor-Hockey. They made the Watson girls look like begimers. Our boys also won their hockey game with good, clean and expert puck-handling. Badminton has never been Cassiar's strong point, but our badminton players put up a close fight against Watson losing out sometimes by only a point or two. As -the long day came to a close a tired but radiant Beverley Tomashewski accepted the Grant Stewart Trophy for Cassiar. So, finally, after a six month stay in Watson Lake the trophy has come home, and by the attitude of the athletes here in Cassiar, it will stay in Cassiar!
