Now is the best time to start losing those summer pounds, "think of Christmas". The Shims Club is starting up again on September 15th at 8:00 p.m. in the Old Lions Room - come and join us and see if we can help you. We not only have diet advice, we have beauty counselling, hairdressing advice, in fact most things to help you feel better and look better. Give us a try! 7 Tourcete Prayer Heavenly Father, look down on your humble tourists doomed to travel this earth, mailing postcards and walk- ing around in drip-dry underwear. We beseech you that our planes be not hi-jacked, our luggage not lost, and that our over-weight baggage go un-noticed. We pray that the phones work, the operators speak our tongue, and that there is no mail waiting from our children caus- ing us to cancel the rest of our trip. Lead us to good unexpensive restaurants, where wine is included in the price of the meal. Give us strength to visit museums and cathedrals but if we skip historic monuments, to take a nap after lunch, have mercy on us, for our flesh is weak. Protect our wives from bargains they cannot afford Lead them not into temptation for they know not what they do. Keep our husbands from looking at foreign women and comparing them to us. Save our husbands from making fools of themselves in Night Clubs and please do not forgive them - their trespasses, for they know exactly what they do. And when our tour is over, grant us the favour of finding someone who will look at our home movies and listen to our stories. This little "Prayer" poem was given to my Mother before she left New Zealand and we thought it most appropriate for this time of the year. . ‘ “4 Laurie Fitzsimmons
