After 20 years in Cassiar the Thornicroft's have retired to their home about 100 miles south of Torono, for a well deserved rest in the quiet, peaceful country- Side. Jack was Office Manager \for many years and also served as Magistrate for a few years and was very active . in community life such as the Community Club, Lions Club and Arena Association. mc Joyce also worked in the Time Office and as a~ ' Secretary for the Hospital and was noted for her intense interest in flowers and the greenhouse where she grew thousands of plants for all the neighbours. On August 10, 1976 friends of Joyce's gathered at Lee Coran's to say "So Long". She was presented with an Eskimo carving and an ornamental bowl. The reminiscing ‘carried on into the wee hours.
