This was the recent picture painted of this community by a radio program from the Yukon Territory. Let's clear the: air! Good Hope Lake is not an underworld crime center, nor is it a filthy, dis- ease ridden slum. Like many northern communities, Good Hope Lake has its share of trials and tribulations. The information in the broadcasts -was a collection of incidents that hap- pened in several areas of northern BC. ‘When aired, the only name mentioned was Good Hope Lake, and the incidents desc- ribed were not authenticated by the person or persons originating the re- port. Good Hope Lake is nestled in the Ca- ssiar Mountains on Highway 37. It con- sists of a Highway Maintenance Camp and Indian community. It boasts a popula- tion of 130. There is a two-building school with oe to seventh egr- ade classes.
