We are doing research to find out how many people know about PG PIRG and whether they themselves think they are environmentally active. We are not doing this project from an anti-PIRG standpoint we merely wanted to know how many people know about PIRG, the fee for PIRG, how many would ask or have asked for a refund and is it because they are environmentally inactive? We asked 200 UNBC students completely randomly (walking around the school) These are our findings 80% - know what PG PIRG is 65% - know about the refund 35% - would ask for the money back (different reasons throughout examples: get money back to buy smokes, fee shouldn’t be mandatory...) 70% - believe they are environmentally active (this meant they had to do at least one of the following regularly: recycle, compost, save energy, be a green consumer...) * The reason we put this in the paper is because one of the project criteria was that you had to share your results with a larger audience. We would like to thank the people who participated in the survey for their time and efforts. Sarah Florio & David Poruks
