¥ KV Oye an ~) th ae a: ee c = 4 bd > pf rit ' + ¢ * 4 Boa Over the Edge Jan 24, 1996 pag 5 Editorial Why is it that people who write editorials whine? I haven’t been doing this for very long, but I’ve noticed that often the whole point of the Editor’s column is to whine about how they got cheated out of that which they deserved,(but they really didn’t), and how bad their life sucks. So, today, I would like to whine about people who whine. So many people I talk to whine continuously about their teachers. My advice: get over it. I cannot see how most people are totally unable to live with their teacher for the one semester that it will take them to learn what they have to. Here’s a question for all of you. What are you going to do when you get out into the real world and have to work with somebody you dislike? Then, on the opposite end, we have the people who whine about the system. So, what do we do? We change the system. What do they do? They whine ‘about the system. I think everybody out there can see - where that one leads. But above all, there are those among us who complain about this paper. This is something that I have never understood. The quality of Over The Edge. has come a long way since last year. We have made efforts to please the major portion of our readership. So, what’s the problem? The problem is with the way that these complaints are being voiced. People come into the office and tell us what is wrong with the paper. They usually are impromptu and rude to the staff,(which is volunteering to do this, we might add...), and we are unable to properly understand where the problems lie. Therefore I would like to propose that complaints be brought in writing, either to the office or sent to our address. This will allow us to consider your opinions and even look into implementing them. I am not against change, but I have trouble receiving the information when you don’t provide it in some sort of tangible form. So, with that, I’ll stop MY whining and hope to hear from you in the weeks to come. Remember, we are your newspaper and we want to hear from you. Meanwhile, peal the potatoes (cut in small slices) and carrots (cut into sticks) and boil them ‘in the same pot. Saves on ‘washing! Let them boil for about 2 minutes so they are still hard. Drain and place in with the chicken. Place in apples. Pour the apple juice on chicken, veggies, and apples. Sprinkle the grated cheese when the chicken is almost done and take out when the cheese has melted and the chicken is done. You may want to add more apple juice or water so the chicken stays moist. Serve right from the pan! It looks beautiful! Look at the colours! Who could resist?! Voila! You have a meal! You can add any veggie really, be creative. This is a what-ever- you-have meal and it will taste great! Enjoy! Only a pot and a pan to clean! Scholarships For High School Students!
