The timber industry along the Pacific Great Eastern right-of-way may be said to be merely in its infancy. Unrivalled Water-power. The average man who has travelled through the Pacific Great Eastern country is staggered by the immensity of its water-power potentialities. It is not surprising when it is known that expert engineers have estimated there is a possible development of about 350,000 horse-power contiguous to the railway. This is more than ample to supply all demands for lighting, heating, power, and the various purposes of communities and manufacturing plants, mining requirements, lumbering, pulp-manufacture, irrigation, or other economic requirements for many years to come. Several development propositions are already under way and there is no doubt that many of the most eligible power-sites will be utilized for various industrial enterprises in the near future.
