employees while on shift, but the Time Office will remain open for a short time after 12 noon and 5 p.m. to enable day shift employees to get their statements. . It is an employee’s responsibility to see that his time ecards or operator’s sheets are made out daily and that they are complete in every detail. Failure to put in time cards may mean that adjustments cannot be made until the following pay period. Employees whose employment has been terminated or who are given leave of absence must report to the Time Office by 9:00 a.m. on the day previous to departure and hand in their pay-off slips or leave of absence slips. Failure to do this may result in your departure being delayed. Your pay cheque will normally be issued at 2:00 p.m. the same day, except that no pay cheques will be issued on Saturdays. Remember when checking your pay for weekly over- time, that the work week always begins on Sunday at 2 Ode faemy When signing on, you will receive a copy of the col- lective bargaining agreement. Union membership is entirely voluntary, but under the Sloan Formula the Company is required to collect Union dues of $3.50 per month from all employees included in the bargaining unit. GROUP INSURANCE Employees are covered by our group insurance policy when they are signed on. Details of this scheme are given in a separate booklet. Be sure to give full details of the person you would wish to benefit. MEDICAL SERVICES ASSOCIATION After 60 days employment with the Company, em- ‘ ployees become members of the M.S.A., as do their de- pendents residing in British Columbia. This covers medical and surgical care, plus certain other auxiliary services. Full particulars may be obtained from the booklets issued. If your family is not in B.C., enquiries should be made as to whether the scheme can be extended to cover them. Employees should promptly report any change in mari- tal status to the Time Office. If married and the family takes up residence in B.C., failure to advise the Time Office may result in a delay in eligibility for M.S.A. cover- age.
