SUMMER PLAYGROUND ACTIVITIES Again this year the Cassiar Community Club will be sponsoring a summer playground program for the youth of Cassiar. The program will be open to children from 3 years to 12 years of age. The program will be conducted this year by Mr. Tim Hurley, a third year physical education student from UBC. He will be assisted by Mrs. Madeleine Royds, R.N., and by a group of teen councillors. The Fort St. John District School Commission has given permission for use of certain of the facilities of the Cassiar Elementary-Secondary School to assist in the program. The program will consist of organized games, athletics, hikes, swimming and handicrafts, and will be supervised at all times. In the near future the parents of the older teens will be receiving a letter from Tim Hurley outlining the program and asking. whether their son or daughter would be interested in being a councillor during the period July-August. Children selected will be paid for their services. A training program for councillors will be held with an instructor from the Quesnel School Board. This training will take place about the 24th — 25th of June. Parents of children between 3 and 12 who are interested in having their children attend the playground program are asked to reply promptly to a circular letter which they will receive on the subject early in June. * He Hee HHH HH HH GOODBYE and GOOD LUCK to: The JENSEN FAMILY, who plan on a holiday in Denmark, following which they will settle in Vancouver.
