already that they will be continuing the success of their previous administration...much

The 1996 Graduate Students’ Society wishes to express its congratulations and best
wishes to the newly elected executive. The Annual General Meeting and Election were
held on November 6 for executive and faculty representative positions. Ballots were
cast for the following candidates:

President - Natasja Treiberg

Vice President -Jason Atkinson, Liz Hughes

Treasurer - Ron Poirier

Secretary -Colin Macleod

CIO (Chief Information Officer) - Scott Forrest

Faculty representatives (2 per faculty) - Janice Tollefsen, Terry Jackson (A & S),
Colette Purcell-Chung and Keith Williams (NRES), Pam Schneider and Chris
Richardson (H & HS), Piero Pucci and Kelli Kryzanowski (M & A)

Regional Representatives (2 positions) - Jeff Hopkins

The results of the election were not available at press time.

The past executive would like to thank all those who have assisted us with developing aqill

and strengthening the Graduate Students’ Society. We have worked hard this year to we Sa AS

provide a number of services to grad students, including: better communication between
administration, students, and faculty; getting grad representation on all university S g 5
committees; reaching out to regional graduate students; answering individual student i
questions and concerns; improving computing support, access and e-mail

communication; and providing a forum for graduate students to have their particular
concerns addressed.

We would like to extend a big thanks to Dean Bill Morrison for his on-going support of

the GSS as we move through our development stages. And, thanks to UNBC ° :
administration for listening to our concerns and making an effort to include us as full B ri ng y' our friends
