February 2 to4, and the B.C. Provincial Playdowns in Vancouver February 9 to Il. In Smithers at the Northern B.C. Winter Games, the team fared as follows: JUNIOR MEN’S SINGLES EVENT Anil Kaul - Gold Atul Kaul - Silver JUNIOR MEN’S DOUBLES EVENT Anil & Atul Kaul - Silver SENIOR MEN’S SINGLES EVENT Ken Madsen - Gold JUNIOR MIXED DOUBLES EVENT Carol Fugere & Atul Kaul - Silver - Ghislaine Berube & Anil Kaul - Bronze % ROY CLEMENTS ANIL AND ATUL KAUL C.C.C. ELECTIONS # The Community club held elections for their executive committee .on Thursday 22nd February. Out of the eight nominees the following were elected: Sherry Sethan John Gwilliam Roy Clements Oliver Leckie Don Toth The elections were held at. the Rec Centre from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and there were 99 ballots cast. The number of members on the committee has been increased by two which -means that three members have completed their terms of office. These are Rita Brown, Brian Chandler and Jim Callow. Rita served as a director, Jim as Vice-President and Brian as President. During their terms of office all three gave a great deal of their time and effort for the good of the Community. We would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for their hard work. At the same time we would like to extend our congratu- lations to the newly elected members. Provincial Badminton Playdowns in Vancouver. Anil came away with the Gold in the 14 Years and Under Category, making him the B.C. Champion in this category. Atul made it to the semi-finals in the 14 - 16 year category. Congratulations to all of these fine athletes! The Cassiar Badminton team, coached by Ken Madsen will represent the North West Zone at the B. C. High School Badminton Champion- ships. The competition will take place on March 16 and 17. This is an Honour usually awarded to a school in a larger centre such as Terrace, Kitimat or Prince Rupert.
