a> LONG SERVICE AVYARDS The Long Service Award is given to those who have been with Cassiar Asbestos Corporation Ltd., for 10 years or more, given out in 1969 and yearly since. The first awards were The pin design is a gold letter "'C'' encircling a jade stone. Jade was chosen because of the green colour and because it is the jem stone more closely resembling serpentine, the Asbestos Host Rock. After 15 years of service, six diamonds are added around the gold ''C'"' and the 20 year service pins have an additional diamond in the centre of the jade. The 25 year service pin is the same as the 20 but with a larger diamond, On Saturday, October 23rd, a ban- quet was held to honour Long Service employees of Cassiar Asbestos Corp- oration Ltd. Mr. Gordon Edwards said grace, and proposed a toast to the Queen, after which a savory dinner was en- joyed by the “old timers'' and guests. After a thank you to C. Marseilles and his staff, Mr, A.C. Caron congrat- ulated the 3 couples who have been here the longest. Also mentioned as pioneer's of Cassiar with 18 years service were, Louts Masson, Danny Demitri, Lothar Ttschler and Paul Ripco. Mr. A, C. Caron also has 18 years service with Cassiar Asbestos Corporation Ltd.
