RECREATION

A Community Centre building erected in 1960 is avail-
able for the use of all employees. It is equipped with a
large auditorium, gymnasium, stage, club and game rooms,
and a well stocked library.

Badminton, basketball, and volley ball facilities are
available.

In the games room, table tennis, cards, chess, checkers
and darts are provided.

The recreation hall at the north end of the athletic
field has a lounge bar, pool hall, barber shop, and a snack
bar.

Films are shown in the auditorium on Mondays, Wed-
nesdays, and Fridays.

No smoking is allowed in the auditorium during film
shows.

No gambling is permitted in the recreation hall at any
time.

Athletic grounds and equipment are made available
for soccer, fastball, and track events during the summer
months. A rink is available for skating and hockey in the
winter.

There are two sheets of curling ice provided for this
very popular winter pastime.

These facilities are supervised and managed by a
committee known as “The Cassiar Community Club.”

This committee is elected by employees, all of whom
are members of the Community Club.

This is your club and these are your facilities.

You are invited to make use of them and take part
in the activities.

Both the Community Club building and the pool hall
“are open until midnight each day.

- LOUNGE BAR
: A lounge bar, for the sale of beer, is situated on the
| west side of the recreation hall.

The lounge will be open from:
4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays
7:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays
7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturdays and on holidays
as posted.
