HBRRGDGD Va BB Al HB, This event helped to continue the excitement of the week when the following teams entered and attempted to identify themselves at the Cassiar Broomball Champs. Teams entered were: Quartz Creek Nuggets, Teachers, Chinook, Cassiar Mountain Daredevils, Bunkhouse 92 and Bunkhouse 93, Ski Club and the Cookery. Every game was truly filled with suspense and I am Sure that if you were to ask any player they would tell you that Broomball is a very exercizing activity that can get rough. Every team put out an amazing effort but in the final analysis it was Bunkhouse 93 that took the title in a gruelling match against the persevering Chinook Winds. The match went into 2 period of overtime play and Still the teams battled to a scoreless tie, Finally, the tie was broken by Rene Beaulac of Bunkhouse 93. Players for Bunkhouse 93 were: Rene Beaulax, Terry Belisle, Briwn Davis, Pierre Fournier, Andre Tremblay, Guy Robitaille, R. Urban, Terry Kean, Charles Racine, A. Babiuk, Doug Dupont and Bill Deline. In this single elimination tournament Drago Lagarvsic lured David Quash into a checkmate after much thought and skill. Drago won the $15.00 cash prize for first place which he them donated back to the Community Club. David won the consolation prize of $10.00. BADMINTOL For those that didn't get the chance to see this event, you missed out on a swell evening of badminton Competition. Marcel De Rouin and his wife Jennie played a tremendous match with competitors John Drzimotta and Tracy Zemenchik. Mr. § Mrs. De Rouin are to be congratulated on their fine display of badminton skill and team work. Svow SCULPTURE The winners of the Snow Sculpture were: Peter Schneeberger - $100 for a Polar Bear Johnny Fiorella - $ 75 for a pair of Indian Heads Bruce Wiseman - $ 50 for a Bon Homme Pulling 600 lbs. was Bruno owned by Stanley Boomhower. This event drew many spectators and was most entertaining! The efforts of Mickey Overton, hockey convenor were very much appreciated as she organized the Pee Wees, Bantams and Midgets. The kids sure enjoyed the oppor- tunity to perform in front of a good crowd - surely we can continue giving these teams our moral support by attending any remaining games in the season. CRAPS DISPLAY Anna Ripco and all of the people that put on the craft display are to be commended for such a beautiful presentation of their handicrafts. As you know the handicraft club meet regularly and it is an ideal outlet to gain lots of ideas and help in any endeavours you might like to embark on. Pancake Breakfast Jack Grant and teaching staff pitched in on Sat- urday morning of Winter Carnival Week to help Gayleen Rattray and her committee of helpers to serve over 200 patrons who enjoyed a feed of pancakes, bacon, coffee and juice. All proceeds will go to the Students Council to sid in its endeavours throughout the year.
