Since the lifting of wartime restrictions
immediately following “VJ” day, there has
been an increase of 62 per cent in the num-
ber of motor vehicle accidents which have
occurred in this province, resulting in an
increase of 46 per cent in the number of
persons killed; 59 per cent in the number
of persons injured, and 98 per cent in the
amount of property damage caused through
this source as compared with the corre-
sponding period last year.

To combat successfully this rising toll of
motor vehicle accidents, the co-operation of
every motor vehicle driver and of every
pedestrian is urgently requested.
