Usually in mid- winter as both a break from the long cold months and as a source of just plain fun; northerners would travel miles for a yearly rendez- vous with friends. It still con- tinues each year in the Yukon Sour- dough Rendez-vous held in Whitehorse, This year the Cassiar Community Club organized a weekend trir to Whitehorse to observe and partici- pate in the festive events. Rendez-vous is the Yukon's way of expressing its unique personality. The stage was set for the late 1800"s and the script was flawless. From the rustling of underskirts of the French can-can, the whirling dance of the Moulin Rouges and the Follies Ber jere, to the "Dandies" standup collared shirts, the string tie and the skimmer; the Whitehorse folk perhaps out did some of the original pioncers.
