Even though many of the mothers had never played hockey before, they managed to score 5 goals. The boys on the other hand scored 9 so they came out the winners. Maybe the fact that Pat Borsato spent her time “praying ‘on her knees for divine inter- _ vention” instead of on her feet stopping the goals had something to do with the scores against. She says it’s her own unique strategy. CASSIAR CRACKERJACKS The Cassiar Minor Hockey Association hosted their annual tournament March March 30th and 31st and April Ist. In the Bantam-Midget division, Whitehorse took first place by winning all their games, with Cassiar placing second and Watson Lake third. The Jade Mountain Gymnastic Club is winding down after a very successful 1983/84 season, which has seen the club more than double in size. The competition scheduled in Whitehorse for the weekend of April 13 - 15 was cancelled—to the great disappointment of all the young gym- - nasts who were looking forward to their first competition. The senior group in the Club will take part in a mini-competition to be held on Saturday, May 5. Interested members of the public may attend as spectators. The competition will start at 10:00 a.m. On Sunday, May 6, there will be a pot-luck banquet for the gymnasts and their families to mark the end of the season. One fund raising venture to take place in the near future is the compilation and sale of a Cassiar Cookbook. The gymnasts will be calling door to door to hand out forms on which you can write out your favourite recipe. If _ you have more than one recipe, please feel free to attach them to the forms. We know there are some _ super cooks out there and look forward to receiv- ing a wide variety of recipes.
