CLINTON A town of about 200 inhabitants, located on the Cariboo Road and P. G. E. Railroad. It has one hotel, two stores, bank, garage, Government office, telegraph, and long distance telephone office. It is 78 miles northwest of Kamloops, and the first town the tourist comes to after they strike the Cariboo Road. Surrounded by a number of beauty spots. and the mistake the average tourists make, they do not detour from the main road. Stop at Clinton and get information on these beautiful places. Clinton is the gateway to the great Cariboo country, and all roads through this country lead to Clinton. From Clinton to Kelly Lake, thence over Pavilion Mountain, down to Lillooet, and back to Clinton through the Marble Canyon, just a day’s run, and you don’t have “THE CHASM", NEAR CLINTON to drive fast. The scenery on this trip is as grand as anything you will see on the North American Continent. 4 If you want to have a good day’s fishing take a run out to Big Bar Lake, a run of 25 miles, and catch all the fish you want to. Go east 7 miles down the Clinton Creek Valley and see Clinton Creek Falls, then in your journey up the Cariboo Road don’t overlook the Chasm, the road passes right close to the edge of it. It is five miles long, about a quarter of a mile wide, and 1,000 feet deep. At the end of it, right near the road there is a totem pole. } 3 Take a trip from Clinton to the 100 Mile House, thence into Canim Lake. This lake is 18 miles long; a good place to camp and fish. If you stop at the Dominion Telegraph office and consult with Mr. J. B.
