Why not stop and ask yourself this question, "Who is the Union?! And you may find you are call- ing yourself down. Union donated one hundred dollars, ($100.00) to the Lee family, who lost their mobile home through fire. { would like to mention, that we are the first North- ern local to have a woman Shop~Steward. Sister McKiernan, is a Steward in the Kitchen Department. Those whom belong to the Western District Union Death Benefit Plan, will notice that the assesment of $1.50 for February, was a little hiqh. The reason being, no assesment was re- ceived for December, 1971. This covers December and January, 1972. It would like to point out the total number of deaths in Dist- rict 6 for 1971 was 48, for the total cost of $4.80 per ‘Nineteen deaths were accidental and twentynine of natural causes, A fairly reasonable insur- ance for the benefits de- rived, Brother Harvey Kent, our District Representative, attended the General Meet- ing, February lth. He outlined the possibilities of a Northern Strike Comm- ittee, this when formed, will encompass all Northern Locals. Notice of motion has been made, this motion will be made and seconded at the General Meeting, March 13th 1972.
