The new time is 7:30 p.m. Highlights of the upcoming general meeting will include the formation of strike committees in preparation for the remote possibility of a work stoppage. Committees will include entertainment and food distribution as well as others. All interested parties are urged to attend. Special meetings for contract proposals regarding negotiations will be held’ May 23rd at the Commun- ity Club. Times are 1:00 and 7:30 p-m. Again, we emphasize the impor- tance of attending these meetings. This is your contract at stake! Nick Smith, from the USWA Vancou- ver office will be in town to run a C.W.S. course during the week of May 29th. This will be of special inter- est to those of the kitchen staff. The union camp committee members now hold meetings on the 2nd Wednes- day of every month at the union hal] at 7:30 p.m. A shop steward's course held May 3rd and 4th was well attended by 26 stewards. Much insight regarding _the role of a shop steward was pro- ‘vided by Mr. Vince Reddy, Internation- al Representative from the Kamloops office. We would like to take this Opportunity to thank those company representatives and stewards who participated. Remember - shop steward meetings are held every 2nd Thursday of the month in the union hall. Stewards and all _ interested union members are welcome to attend. One of the major uni on-company trouble spots seems to stem from job postings and the application of sen- > jority, skill, ability and experience.
