The Barenaked Ladies played to an excited crowd at the Multiplex on Sunday night. After winning three Junos BNL was pumped and so was the audience. Those people who were there early even got to watch the band give their Juno acceptance speech. The act was a combina- tion of fun music and cheap rip-offs of teen pop music with a comedy thrown in for fun. Chantal Kreviazuk opened the night for BNL, but lacked her usual enthusi- asm, as one of her close (1 800 622-6232) little bit of - 1800 O-Canada an 2 va relatives had gone into a coma that day and she was quite upset. Before one of her songs she explained the reason why she was upset and broke down into tears on stage. It seemed that the set was cut short and she was somewhat off her stride for the evening, but the crowd sympathized and sent her off with a stand- ing ovation. The crowd once again rose to its feet as the members of BNL came onto stage. They started off with some of their more TTY/TDD 1 800 465-7735 recent music and then proceeded to sing a song that had never been heard before called "Sweaty, Juno Winning Balls" that sent the crowd into fits of laughter. Later on in the show Ed Robertson (guitar, vocals) - related his expe- riences at the Kid's World Children's Expo with his daughter Hannah, and expressed his gratitude that Prince George has a "real fucking fairy" walking around. Towards the end of the performance BNL pulled out the classic "If | had a Million Dollars" and got the crowd involved, look- ing for a guy in the audi- ence with the best hair and beard combo. One of the elderly security guards won, but a guy near the front got an honorable mention for having a-small . beard and BNL shaved into the back of his head. Overall, the show was well worth the $50 price tag, and probably one of the best BNL has ever put on due to the excitement of winning their three Juno Awards. J programs. skills.
