ee 9 * 5 ee ee Page 12 May 1983 Cassiar Courier COMMUNITY CLUB NEWS Before we go into the month of May, we will review a a very successful event at the end of March — the Yukon Regional Games. For the first time, part of the Games were held here in town. The two sports allotted to Cassiar were co-ed volleyball and senior hockey. There were 8 ‘teams involved in the volleyball and five in the senior hockey tournament. Both tournaments went smooothly over the weekend, with Cassiar teams winning both events Enthusiastic crowds attended the Games and there was a dance for this occasion on the Saturday night. A note of thanks to all the volunteers and people who had offered their homes to the athletes. Also, thank-yous to Cassiar Resources, Erickson Gold Mine, Finning Tractor, Taurus Resources and the Unions for their donations and support.
