? The weekend of March 27 was enjoyed by the Cubs on
an overnight outing at Chain Lakes. Some star and badge
work’ to do with the outdoors was completed. A special

thanks is extended to all who made this weekend a
success. Below is a letter written by the Cubs.

sxidoo. Thank you Debbie for going on the hike with us.
Thank you for the bonfire and food. Thank you for
letting us sleep in your cabin, Mr. & Mrs. Johnston and
Mr. & Mrs. Duri. We had fun skiing. We're glad the
weather was good, we enjoyed carrying in the water and
wood, cleaning up and doing the dishes. It was fun
making the fire in the snow.

| We enjoyed the fish bake. Thank you Cathy for
teaching us telephone. Thank you for the dry clothes
in the morning.

We had lots of fun.

This course will cover the basic methods of gold
panning, the -history of gold panning in the area, laws
on gold panning and staking Claims, and rock identifica-
tion and geological formations in area. There will be
field trips to prospective creeks where panning can be
done. |

This program will be co-sponsored by the Cassiar

Community Club, Cassiar Asbestos Corp., B.C. Mining Dept.
Field trip will be conducted by local miner and prospec-
tor George Zimich. :
