In 1966 ‘at his own request he was assigned to the™
Yukon and since then has served as Pastor and co-Pastor
at Sacred Heart Parish, Whitehorse. In 1972-73 he took -
sabatical leave to attend St. Paul's University, Ottawa
where he received a Masters degree in marriage counsel-
ling.

Father Pauwells who comes to Cassiar at his own
request will take up his duties here on August 15th, 1975
He replaced Father J. McAllister O.M.I. who leaves for
studies in Ottawa.

During the past weeks Cassiar Asbestos Corp. Ltd.
have purchased 3 additional units of 20 rooms each;
therefore, making 60 more rooms. available for Cassiar
employees.

With the increased production of ore’ and the
increase in the volume of waste removal gver this next
year or two, it has become necessary to build up the
working force at the mine.
