We hope that this appointment will not discourage the present clubs from organizing their pursuits in their previous excellent manner, Shirley will give assistance in co- ordinating the activities of the various clubs and also develop new proprams.,. She is willing to help out with any assistance required. During the last several months your community club has received a number of complaints regarding the quality of the T.V. transmission and the sound of the movies in the recreation hall. We have been in constant touch with the C.B.C. in Whitehorse: and several new machines have been installed and experts have attempted to eliminate our problems. We hope that the latest attempts will ensure us trouble free viewing for the winter. The sound track for the movies has long been cause of complaints and visits from experts in Vancouver have often cost us a great deal of money for very little improvement. During August we had a visit from an engineer from Edmonton who made certain recommendations regarding equipment. The new parts were ordered and during his next visit we hope that the improvements he will make will eliminate many of the present defects. It must be remembered that even in the multi- millien dollar Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, sound problems exist and in a multi-purpose build~ ing like our Recreation Hall some problems will remain. However you can be sure that your Community Club Executive will do everything within reason to im- prove present conditions. zx ke &
