Sorry folks, we don't have very much in
the way of sports news this month, our Sports
Editor is attending the Empire Games in
Scotland - so perhaps he will be sending us
reports from there:

However we do have one interesting item on
Stock Car Racing at Whitehorse.

John Johansen (cheered on by a couple of
guys from the Garage Department) won SIX
trophies on July Sth.

He broke the track reoord by 8 seconds,
he won the speed dash, two heat races and
the the big race of the day - "The Grand Prix"
John rolled his car in the 18th lap, it came
back on to its wheels and then John drove the
car on to win the race.

Congratulations John - let's hope the
track will soon be finished at Cassiar and then
we can all see you in action.

John will be taking his Stock Car up to
Anchorage Alaska over the Labour Day holiday,
so we will probably see him returning from
there with lots of prizes too.
