Cassiar Courier 1990 Page 18 BANDANA OUTDOOR CLUB } The extracurricular club was founded in 1988 and is open to anyone attending Cassiar Second- ary School. The name "Bandana" originated when two Trask brothers got together to do some Spring bear hunting. After hik- ing many of the North's great trails, including the .Tahltan trail, the idea for the club was conceived. We were wearing . bandanas and hence the name for: the club. The purpose of the club is to offer a opportunity for stud- ents to participate in a great outdoor adventure, utilizing the fantastic country in which they live. Bach year the club en- deavors to travel to a secluded destination. Last year it was a 5 day horse pack trip into Todagin Lake east of Kinaskan Lake near Iskut. This year we plan a fly-in fishing trip. Our location is tentative, but we de- sire to catch some nice size fish 560 Our chance will be the most productive lake based on inform- ation that will be gathered from local experts in those areas. The club fund raises money to finance the trip. This year we sold fruit and vegetables and had a Japanese orange sale. We hope to raise the remaining mon- ies by raffling prizes that are kindly donated to the club. They will sell $3.00 each or 2 for $5.00.
