The road to higher education
has proven to be one of the more
Controversial projects ever undertaken in
northern British Columbia. The matter
upon which | would like to focus is not
the amount of money we poured into the
making of University Way, but rather the
new and interesting forms of ‘wild'life
which have evolved with it’s creation.

There seems to be a general
consensus that getting to Pine Center
from College heights or Foothills
Boulevard is faster via University way.

What's up with that, is my
only question

| think that this view is
probobly brought about due to the fact

_ that the speed limit is zokm/h across

University Way, whereas a driver would
be forced to travel bokm/h through
stoplights with anybody else.

Good call.

After all, why join in with
the traffic jams of the sprawling
metropolis of Prince George? Is it not
easier to just give it all a miss and recent
expend a full tank of gas turning your
vehicle into a rocket?

Let’s face it.. We have seen
some very serious accidents at
intersections. I've seen some absolutely
horriffic driving practices exhibited on
University Way, not to mention about
town. One of Prince George’s most
recent and deadly accidents occured at
the highway 16/Tyner Boulevard
intersection. Mistakes are mistakes, but
I'm sure that passing another vehicle by
jamming yourself into the ditch, scraping
along five or six cars, and finally heading
into the turn lane is not exactly legal.
The speed limit is set for ideal conditions,
so why do | see people gun their cars past
me at mach 34.6 when it is pitch black
and raining?

It’s not a raceway. You'll get
to where you're going in due course if
you take your time about it. There is no
point in forcing the issue if it doesn’t
need forcing.

Use your head, avoid
becoming roadkill, and always, always,
check your brake fluid. You never know .
when you may need it.
