residential areas, too, need

that if the downtown looks
attractive, people will take
pride in their city and want to
prove that their homes can
reflect their pride as well.

developers of this plan did

not have a_ regional
perspective. The proposed

new canopies will not hold
up to Prince George's harsh
winters. Also, with the
reduced parking, shoppers
and merchants will have to
walk a long distance to get to
and from businesses. In -30
C weather, many people will
find it more convenient just
to go to the mall.

P-It is true that Prince
George is known for its harsh
winters and things may be
inconvenient, but generally, |
feel that Prince George does
not need to do something
about its appearance and we
have to start somewhere.

C-I think we can agree that
Prince George's downtown
does need improvement, but
a revised plan would be more
beneficial.

could be more beneficial, but
Prince George should have
taken advantage of the
opportunity when it became
available. Prince George is
growing and steps must be
taken to assure its successful
future.
