Les is a truck driver at the Mine and has been in Cassiar for about seven months, however, his family has just moved from Fort Nelson to 352 Brown Street, Cassiar, B.C. Gary Roberts, wife Barbara and 3 year old Damion who have left Vancouver to make their new home at 245 Drybrough Street, Cassiar. On the evening of May 23rd, Mrs. Guarducci held a tea for Moira MacPherson, (née Small) in order to acquaint her with some of the ladies of Cassiar. Mr. & Mrs. Earl Dickinson of Comox, Vancouver Island, drove to Cassiar to visit Dave & Christine Dickinson and baby Joanne’ On arrival, June 3rd, they said the road was good except for some construction 50 miles north of Fort St. John. Aside from Mr. Dickinson's car cleaning duties: he said he enjoyed this "neck of the woods". Wagner on your recent promotion to Electrical Foreman. On the sunny afternoon of Friday, May 10, 1974, Moira Small and James MacPherson were wed in a quiet ceremony at Prince George, B.C. Moira was born in Dundee Scotland but comes to Cassiar by way of Jamaica where she has been teaching art and working as a freelance theatre, television and graphics designer. Jim has been employed with Cassiar since 1970 and is currently involved with the Environmental field. The couple are temporarily resident at 603 Carmacks Street and look forward to an enjoyable future in Cassiar. Pat Bou ato NVetires On June 18th the staff of the Royal Bank gave a farewell party for Pat Borsato who is going on a five week holiday. Upon her return, Pat will only work part- time. After a delicious fondue, Pat was presented with the traditional engraved silver mug and an asbestos neck- lace and earring set. The children enjoyed themselves, singing as they walked along the trails. There was only one thing missing at the picnic, peanut-butter sandwiches, but never mind we'll know for next year. Paul and Marlene Wood would like to thank the parents for faithfully getting up early every Sunday morning and bringing their children to Sunday School to learn and sing about Jesus. We have enjoyed teaching your children immensely and look forward to having the privilege of teaching them again in the Fall. We would like to say "Farewell and God Bless" to Michael and Caroline Kutsche and Joyce Cloakey who have now left Cassiar but attended Sunday School regularly. A wine and cheese party was held tn the Centennial Arena Lounge on Fratday, June 21st. The proceeds from this party will be used to help in the restoration of the church buildings.
