A small hospital like ours PAR AVION often results in many varied nursing experiences and Lil certainly can tell a few tales. Like the one where one of DESTINATION the staff at the hospital disappeared for awhile. A patient was admitted to hospital and he found a “bed-warmer”’ tetters Smal] Packets waiting for his arrival. Or the time shat she was on night & Parcels shift and went out to her car to get a package. Martha Wallenborn (then the house- keepr for the hospital) arrived soon after, but she depend- GreateBritvarn ed on the nurses to get in. The two ladies were seen tr- gen@errelaad ing to open windows by standing on the snow banks (it was February), and they tried to open the ramp door. Lil also notes that Rep. of Ireland France Germany (Fed.) many of the nursing staff through the years have been Netherlands known for their practical tricks, like Nirmal Kaul who CFPOs used to build up a bed (to give the appearance of a pa- tient), write a report, and go home in the morning. She Japan would leave the next nurse on shift puzzled as to the Hong Kong whereabouts of the patient. Statzerland The hospital has also kept Lil busy. She remembers cuedan the night when eleven patients were admitted. They were in the wards, in the halls, and even in the x-ray and emer- ; gency rooms. Neva It has been, however, the clear air and beautiful scenery that have kept Lil here in Cassiar, those things which tempted her back to British Columbia. You can South Pacific find her most weekends out at the cabin, enjoying the Africa sunset and her bird-watching, or sitting around in the South America hot tub with one or more of her family.
