Your Cassiar Lions Club
is always at work in our
community. We pick up beer
bottles on weekends and the
proceeds are returned to the
community. Underneath all
that snow is the Lions Play-
ground and the Lions Swimm=
ing Pool. At chain Lakes
is the Lions Picnic grounds.
The Drum and Bugle Band is
sponsored by the Lions Club
as is Minor Hockey and Minor
Softball. We sponsor an
Eye Examination Clinic and .
we now have our own machine
for testina eyes as well as
organize the annual drive
for a on behalf of the
C.NJI.

Some ie our upcoming
events are a Winter Carnival
and Games Night to be held

in March, an Easter Seal
Campaiqn and a Summer Reg-
atta Day at Chain Lakes,
We sincerely hope we can
rely on all your support
for all of our activities.
We in Cassiar are indeed
fortunate this year to have
the Governor of our District
493 in our Club. As many
of you know this is Rupert
McKenzie. Rupert is the
first Canadian to hold this
post and it will no doubt be
some time before another
such person comes alona.

our annual ''Lions Ball!

On Monday, January 31st.
the Cassiar Lions Club held
a social in honour of the
visit to Cassiar of District
Deputy Governor of 49B, Lion
Claude Douglas and Lioness
Virsa Douglas.

Lion Claude and Lioness
Virsa were on their way back
home to Fairbanks, Alaska,
from a extended holiday in
California.
