There is a place for you here in our town
and we welcome you to it. The town is
yours. The rest, in a way, is up to you.

The fact is it takes a little time for people
to get to know each other. Everybody is a
little different. You’ve been around. You
know the score.

We want you to know that this welcome is
not just from the company. It’s from all of
us at Cassiar who have also been around,
and we know what it means to come to a
strange place. It can be a bit bewildering at
first. Most of us have been through it. We,
like you, have had to search out new
companions — meet new people. We
want you to know that a lot of us here are
ready to help you become part of our
town, and become our friends.

Getting to know a place is never easy.
That is why we prepared this booklet. Its
sole purpose is to give you an idea what
goes on around here — provide a little
flavour of the place. And a lot of Cassiar-
ites pitched in and helped produce it. They
helped the photographer take the pictures
and helped the writer get his facts straight
— and that’s never easy. They helped with
the lights, moved their trucks to catch the
sun, sent their kids out to be models, and
opened the doors to their homes.

They did this because it gave them a
chance to help newcomers get to know
Cassiar and the general lay of the land.

We are happy to see you here. Let us all
know who you are. We’d like to shake
your hand. And that means a lot more
than a flock of words.
