BAUMGARTNER, P, CLARK, Li STODART, H, HAWKINS, | On May 25, the Cassiar Mine Rescue Team competed in the northern B.C. region mine rescue competition in Kamloops. The competition problem consisted on an oral examination plus a practical problem. The practical problem was a simulated mine accident where a man went over a 60 foot embankment in a car. The man had to be rescued through a hole in the roof which each team had to cut. The only method of getting to the victim was by re- pelling down ropes thrown over the face. Six teams from B.C. entered the competition. Although the Cassiar team did not win the competition, they made a good showing. -2 ae . ee : ONE OF THE NEW 75 TON TRUCKS ORM ASSAF (left) SHOVEL OTLER and .EORGE FABIAN 1400 OPERATOR.
