Dr. MacDonald, the
MacDonald in MacDonald
Dettweiler and Associates
Ltd., will be kicking off the
UNBC Northern Land Use
Institute’s Distinguished
Lecture Series with a review
of Earth observation technol-
ogy and its implications for
the future. Satellite mapping
technology is of particular
importance for land planning
_ and resource management
purposes, making it an obvi-
ously relevant topic for dis-
cussion at UNBC. Dr.
MacDonald was born in
Prince Rupert and was
instrumental in the develop-
ment of the Science Council

Technology, better known as
MIT, during which time he led
the design team for the first
