JHEHRHHHEHHESH BADMINTON . On the week-end of March 24th, a group of badminton players and supporters ventured some 357 miles to Whitehorse to participate in the Yukon Badminton Tournament. It was reported that the trip was fine except for a few minor breakdowns, snow- banks, ice, etc. and was much enjoyed by all - the feod, clubs (soft lighting), the tours and se on. (Sez John =~ some toured the restaurants and others toured the bars and some just toured. ) It waan't only for the night life that these people travelled those many miles. Cassiar made a fine showing with John Mahon now holding the Yukon title in the men's singles Other Cassiarites in the running were Brian Brenton and Olga Husack with second vlace in the mixed doubles and Stu Carlisle-Smith and Al Lonergan plecing second in the men's doubles. Competition was very keen rerorts the Club. We hope that we will be able to stage a tournament here in the not too distant future. According to the "Northern Light" the Vatson Lake Badminton Club are hard at it again. So, all round it sounds as though 1962 is going to be a good year, sportewise that is.
