90 Practically all of the easterly half of the township is open or nearly open country and forms part of the main Pouce Coupe settlement. Most ef the lanés in the open country are occupied and considerable of 1% is under euitivation. Several of the settlers elso have fair herds of cattle. The westerly part of the open country is marked by a series of high hilis which extend to near the Kise katinaw river and there is not much likelihood of the settlement extending westerly in this rough coun- trys The main roac from Prouce-Coupe to the soldier settlement is along the south chord of this township. fHis read through the timbered parte has been opened out one chain wide but the stumps heve not been removed, leaving the trail in a very rough con@ition. In adti- tion to this the topography of this part of the country is broken ané as a whole this is a very poor road. Erench trails leé to sll settled parts of this township.
