Co-sponsored by the Ministry of the Attorney General and the Ins- urance Corporation of British Columbia, Counter- Attack is a crime prevention program aimed at reducing the number and severity of alcohol-re- lated traffic accidents on B.C.’s roads. 1987 marks the tenth year of the Counter- Attack Program. The 10th Anniversary slogan “‘A Decade Down a Safer Road’’ reflects the success of this public education, enforcement and com- munity-based program. Since 1977, alcohol- related traffic accidents have been reduced by 50%. This means every year CounterAttack helps save an average of 30 lives, 850 injuries and $13 million.
