Christmas is a time for warmth, good cheer and visits from your many friends. Christmas gift wrappings and colourful decorations add a great deal to the success of the Festive Season. They also contain the ingredients for loss of property, loss of life and deep and mournful sadness. Treat them with care and keep the Fire Hazard Thought foremost in your minds. — Get rid of wrapping paper at once. — Turn out tree lights before retiring or before leaving your home. — Don’t overload electrical circuits. — Provide plenty of ashtrays for smokers. — Don’t leave your children unless they are in the hands of a capable babysitter.
