This was Mr. Calder's first visit to
this District as Minister of the Crown. The
main purpose of this visit was to enquire
into the needs of northerm communities like
ours in order that they may be presented
to the government.

A welcome back to all summer students from
Cassiar and surrounding areas who are back
once again, one year smarter and wiser (7?)

FRED & COLLEEN HEWETT - Mine Geologist.

A recent graduate from UBC and an ex-
Cassiar summer student picking crude, Fred
decided to return again on a permanent
basis.

PAUL & KAREN CLARK —- After four years in
Fairbanks, Alaska, Paul and Karen chose

to return again to Cassiar. Paul is pre-
sently working in the Mill Lab and will
later become Project Engineer. Karen plans
to teach again at the school.

SCOTT MURRAY - Exploration Technoligist.

TONI GRIFFITHS - Toni comes to Cassiar
from Vancouver, B.C, where she worked for
a period of time. She is the new steno
in Industrial Relations and Training,
orginally coming from London, Ontario.
