Sure if you are coming’ from Vancouver there will be less to see and do, but that does- n’t mean that there is nothing for you here. Prince George offers many different activities for students that are fun, and inexpensive. If you are inter- ested in the outdoors, Prince George can offer even more than Vancouver in some ways. For those who love drama, there are opportunities to see plays put on by Theatre Northwest, Prince George Theatre Workshop and The Excalibur Performing Arts. Maybe I'd have a few drinks, regardless I'd cry inside. In the next couple of weeks the Excalibur Performing Arts group will be putting on a production of Grease. Also, there are per- formances put on by. the Judy Russell Enchantment Dance - Studio and many other ama- teur groups in the city. If drama is not your thing you could always check out some of the outdoor activities that Prince George has to offer. There are tons of trails to hike and bike in the area, for all levels of fitness and enthusiasm. For cyclists who are interested in meeting oth- ers who like to bike there is the Prince George Cycling Association, which has _ events planned for the month of October. ” Right behind the university you can walk for five minutes and be in Forests -for the World where you can take a short medium or long trail, visit the shelter by Shane Lake and have a picnic or just check out the -different ani- mals that can be seen. At this time of year you will be able to see many different types of migrating birds as they make their way south. The opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts don’t stop when the snow flies either. Within a couple hours of town, Prince George has several ski hills that can be a lot of fun. If you don’t have a car you can always catch a bus out to one of the hills. Prince George also has _ several areas where you can cross- country ski, go snowshoeing or sledding if you wanted, and when there is snow there is always time to make a snow- man. If you are wanting to go out and listen to some music there are opportunities for almost any type that you could want. Many bands now have Prince George on their concert tour schedule and we get everything from The Tragically Hip to Great Big Sea coming through. For those who would rather listen to a little classical now and then, the Prince George Symphony Orchestra plays one or two times a month. Death (continued from page5) now.
