He suggested that the school children were a potentially more dangerous situation, and he is right. Now school children don't bite, but they do walk down the road five or six abreast, and they do engage in a good deal of pushing and shoving and they do not at times appear to watch where they are going. Now add to this some of the reckless drivers one sees going down the street and the general poor conditions of the roads, it does seem to present a situation that could be potentially dangerous or even life threatening. Now I amin Sure that a word or two from the proper authorities will resolve the school children problem. I am not so sure that a word to the reckless drivers will have «ithe» same) results, but'> as concerned citizens, you Can and should report reckless drivers, like the ones that drove past the school bus last week while the red lights were flashing. This is a small town and nobody needs to be speeding to get to where they are going. Surely both groups can exhibit a little bit of common sense betore serious happens and Pater ati wi bie something sooner or eeeeceeeeoee I had several responses to my remarks about the soon to come toilet paper shortage. One lady from Kelowna advised that’ the article had been pinned up on their church bulletin board. An- other reader sent me a copy of a magazine article that indicated the Japanese were already taking the matter seriously. They have developed a paperless toilet that does all the work for you. You just have to push a button and it washes you down. That maybe O.K. but the environmentalists are also Claiming we are going to run out of water. : Library Submitted by Jenator Callaway Welcome LEO) NOR Ra two new volunteers, Coins EP EENOetls, and Jane Jacobs. The Com- pany committed to an accelerated mine stripping program to meet a seven year mining plan, to extend the mine life beyond the propcsed June 1990 closure date, scheduled by the previous owner. Since purchasing the property, programs are being implemented to improve efficiencies and position the operation for the future. An ex- ploration program has been com- mitted in the vicinity of the present open pits, with the in- tent of extending the. mine life beyond the current plan.
