But it was not exactly a pleasure jaunt for me ; I had developed a splitting headache, my body was badly bruised and sore all over, and with my feet skinned and bleeding and almost bare, walking over the rough, rocky ground was painful in the extreme. But all bad things come to an end sooner or later, and at last we arrived in camp. My bed, though a rough one, felt mighty good to me that night.
