Gail arrived in Cassiar in
August 1979. She had already
visited Cassiar once hefore-while
working with the Indian children
of Telegraph Creek, during Jule,
1970,

Cail previously worked for
M.S.A. and for her father hefore
commine to Cassiar.

Her comment on the place-
"I like it-otherwise I would'nt
be here."

A bridal shower was held for
Miss Arlene Rorsato on December 28,
1970, at the home of Mrs. Marlene
Venzi. <A number of friends attend-
ed and Arlene received many lovelv
gifts.

A light lunch was served bv
Denise and Marie Borsato,. sisters
of the bride-to-be.

A shower was held on Friday.
January 8, at the home of Mrs.
Marvel Nitti for Miss Arlene Borsato.
Arlene thanked the ladies gathered
for the lovely gifts she received.
A light lunch was served and the
ladies enjoyed a delicious punch.

Sonja Drzimotta

Sonia is a native of Germany-
arrived in Canada at the ripe age
of 2 years.

She came to Cassiar with her
family in 19465 and attended the
Cassiar school from Grades 7-10,
and then completed her education
at Fort St. John.

She started working as a
summer student in 1970 in the
Training Centre and later hecame
the "Printing girl".

The Ladies Curling League pot
off to a good start on Wednesdav,
December 2.1970, with eight teams
registered and a number of snares.

Games will continue until Feh-
ruary 3,1971. A good number of the
ladies are beginners and are doing
very well, plus having a good time.

Mrs. Norma Tarasuk and Mrs.Marve.
Nitti have heen doing an excellent
job of looking after the little ones
while Mom curls. Norma has left to
have a little one of her own, but
hopefully some one will give of
her time to help Marvel.

Good to see the homes in town
well lit up for Christmas. Much
time and effort is put in, and it
gives a person a lift at this time
of vear.
